Abeyance or removal from registersRegistrants can request that their names be removed from the registers or request that their registration be placed in voluntary abeyance by filling out the Abeyance or Removal from Registers (Form CA08). Once you are removed or in abeyance, you can no longer use the relevant postnominal (e.g. CPEng) after your name. To rejoin a register after having requested that your name be removed, you must undertake another Assessment for Admission (AFA) and pay the current assessment fees. Voluntary abeyance from a register must be for at least one or more years. The period of abeyance must expire before the end of the year in which your next Continued Registration Assessment (CRA) must be carried out. Therefore, if you are in the last year of your current registration you cannot put it into abeyance. The annual registration fee is reduced during the term of your abeyance. If you have been in voluntary abeyance, you can rejoin the registers at any time before your registration period ceases by notifying IPENZ and paying the annual registration fee. |
